Welcome to Desertscape Design & Construction
Through a process called the “hydrologic cycle”, precipitation generally equals the amount of water lost to evaporation and transpiration. Although there is a potential annual net gain of approximately 9,000 cubic miles of water on the land every year, the paradoxical reality remains;water is not increased, it is only recycled. Our population growth is out growing our constant water supply.

World Population Growth

1900-1.6 Billion

1960-2.5 Billion

Population and water use are increasing and yet, the fact remains, only 0.85% of the world’s water source is available for human use.

2006-6.7 Billion

W
ater is our most precious natural resource. Without it, we can't
survive or be able to water our landscapes or gardens and grow the food we eat.
Water is important to our Ecosystem. Mankind needs plants to repeatedly recycle the oxygen we breathe.  As water tables shrink and water prices soar, a need for more efficient irrigation is needed. Most contractors, prefer spray systems because they can see the water spraying into the air.  Drip Irrigation systems have to be checked differently, even checking for plant stress.  Other contractors just resist change.  The most important factor is good management, maintenance and repair and finally scheduling.  The main problem is the population explosion. No system is 100% perfect. They all have their flaws.
